About

updated 10 June 2011

Welcome to Mik’s Place, a dusty, moldering corner of the interwebs I call my own. I’m Mik (pronounced mic as in microphone. I’m saving energy by dropping the “e” [with plenty of water]); a Brit (a Lutonian*) who has been a permanent resident in Seattle USA since 1998, with my gorgeous wife.

As I said, I am a Brit, a pommy, a limey, call me what you will (except an Aussie, a Kiwi or a Bostonian!), and although I have adopted the way of spelling of my adoptive country of abode, I tend to use English vernacular and cuss words.

I can spell but I am crap at typing so posts may get edited after initial posting if I missed something the first ten times I checked the post. I lay no claims of being a great literary genius or even a good grammar monkey.

I live to make the wife roll her eyes and shake her head in wonder at the loon she married.

Here I plan on posting the various creative projects I work on when I get the urge to break out the art supplies. I have worked in professional photography and still occasionally dust off the camera and take a few snaps, I like to draw, make models, action figure dioramas, steam punk creations and am getting interested in bookbinding. The blog is transitioning from my personal blog to the creative projects so most of the older posts are my silly stories and observations.

I do hope you enjoy your time here and find something to amuse you, make you scratch your head or roll your eyes. I like comments and look forward to hearing from my reader.

*Lutonian, someone who hails from the town of Luton in Southeast England.
